Adventures of Life "Part Two"

So i have started my own construction company and i bid a job for a guy from Charleston SC, I get the work and start doing the remodel of his (Ben Gramling) house, we become quiet good friends over the next few weeks and one day while he was chatting with another contractor he tell him he is going to Africa, I quickly butt in and say i will come i love Africa, his quick response was it is for business not pleasure, I will still come i say.

One week later Cherie and I are invited to dinner at Ben's house in Colorado and the conversation quickly turned to work where Ben's wife said she could get Cherie a job in Charleston ( i guess the plan was to have me move there to do construction for Ben) Cherie replies i am fine get Mark a job, my response I don't need a job I am going to Africa.

Well, the look on Ben and his wife's face! Ben asks if i am serious? After a bottle of Oban I say absolutely.

Ben immediately gets on the phone to the President of the company doing the African projects, again bottle of Oban and 11pm, "Do I speak French he says" the answer "No" back on the phone "Would i go to Liberia he asks" sure why not, the reply, Ben says he will arrange an interview with the board in Charleston, Cherie and I head home completely amazed with the whole night, really thinking that it is all a load of crap.
